1. Effort is the most attractive trait everyone should have by default. Making effort shows to a person that you matter & you respect them even if you’re calling it quits, saying it is STILL effort. Make sure you make effort in your dates. Make sure they reciprocate it back.
2. And the other made up an excuse (a rather piss poor one) on how her life was upside down and 'wasn't fit' for dating. It's a really defeating feeling. To put in so much time and effort into getting to know someone and have this feeling that it will hopefully lead to more, only for it to go nowhere. It's defeating and depressing.

Honestly, it’s good that they do this, because you know right away the level of effort they’re going to put towards dating you. I went out with someone who clearly didn’t put in any effort on his profile, and his lack of effort in dating were matched. Effort helps you build value in almost every venue but dating, only those with value can only with effort reveal it, revealing it is very easy which makes the use of 'effort' very redundant, so really effort is worthless in dating. I mean, you only have to look at the term 'value', in dating 'value' equates to immutable traits, which means 'low. Boyfriend doesn't put in effort. Well like the tittle says, i feel like he doesn't put any effort into the relationship. He invites me to his place to spend 3days each week there. The whole time I'm there he is either coding, playing league of legends with his friends on discord or chatting with his friends on discord.

Just looking for some guidance. I am actively dating but just ended a 3 week long budding rlship with a really sweet person. I am sad it didn't work out. I cried over it and is contemplating about taking a break because I can't handle it anymore. It was working well until it didnt.

I hear stories all the time about the one person that just shows up in your life? How do they just show up? If I don't actively use apps I literally don't meet anyone. My life is so busy (10-12hour days plus weekends). I don't like to go for drinks at a bar (I don't drink and drive - bad eyesight for driving at night). I don't go to the gym (nature trails are more my speed) or splurge at restaurants nor do I go out to do any of my hobbies because they require finances I don't have at the moment. I have a cute dog and dog parks are empty. 🥲

Unless this person just somehow magically appears. The advice on not using dating apps really is very conflicting for me. I want to stop but I do not know how to 'the one' would just show up at my doorstep without me actively looking.

I (23F) started talking to this guy (26M) from hinge, for about 1.5 months before meeting up, since he was at home visiting his family in philly. After he came back to california he gave me a heads up and told me he was gonna have to go to Denver for a couple months for work (cause he’s in the film industry). But with his two weeks he was at home in LA we decided to just meet up. I had no expectations with meeting him. Turns out we hit it off really well and told me he wanted to keep seeing me. We went on two more dates after that and on the last night and then he had to leave for Denver. He said he wanted to keep talking and that really liked me and so did I. As a week passes we FaceTime, call, and text everyday. But a couple days ago I can see he kinda stops putting in as much effort to talk to me. We haven’t FaceTimed in 4 days and aren’t texting as much but he still flirts with me and asks me about my day but his communication is starting to get inconsistent. I don’t know if this is already gonna die down cause I had so much hope but I’m already feeling like he’s not into me as much anymore. Ive just been trying to mirror his energy but I think I might be wasting my time. Or maybe I’m overthinking this? Should I stop putting in all efforts?
